PINFIRE COMPONENTS

Invented by Frenchman Casimir Lefaucheux in the 1830's the pinfire was one of the earliest practical designs of a metallic cartridge.

Valkyrie Ordnance offers loading kits for the pinfire. Do not mistake Valkyrie Ordnances loading kits with other reloading kits on the market. Our brass cases are drawn like the original ones. Cases already on the market are machine turned making them alot more expensive, also these cases are almost imposible to crimp like the origional ones. After one loading with other cases they are dirty and need to be cleaned before loading again. You only load our cases when they are clean and shiney. The primer holder is perminantly installed and not removeable.
Our kits contain 50 cases with the primer holders installed, the pins aready installed plus the projectiles. All you have to do is position a primer (which you provide) into the primer holder, seat the pin, add black powder(which you provide) and insert and crimp the bullet. After being discharged these cases can then be disposed of. Purchase a new box and repeat, this is made possible because the kits are far more economical than machine turned kits. We do not recommend reloading our cases.

MANDATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT WHEN LOADING PINFIRE SHELLS.
  • Loading instructions including viewing the HELPFUL TIPS FOR LOADING THE PINFIRE VIDEO.
  • Eye Protection (full face shield recommended)
  • Protective Latex or nitrile gloves (handling lead projectiles)
  • Proper tools
  • Common Sense (most important)

A Danger exclusive to Pinfire Ammunition.
  • Accidentally hitting the PIN with enough force to detonate the shell. You can do this by dropping or striking the shell onto a hard surface. This is an inherent shortcoming of the pinfire.

Once shells are loaded.
  • They must be stored in a container such as a cartridge box with dividers that keep the pins from contacting each other, or hard objects:
  • They must be shielded from heat and rough handling.
  • Always wash hands after contacting LEAD.
  • Never eat or smoke while handling LEAD.
  • Keep out of reach of Children before and after being loaded.

BEFORE SHOOTING ANY FIREARM THAT YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH, HAVE THE FIREARM THOROUGHLY INSPECTED BY A COMPETENT CERTIFIED GUNSMITH, TO MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE TO SHOOT.
